A Study Permit is a permit issued to a foreign national who intends to study on a full time or part-time basis at a Zambian Educational Institution. It is destined to students and pupils from outside Zambia, who chose to continue their studies at an Educational Institution located in Zambia.
The Study Permit is a fully electronic service: it can be requested online on the Governmental Electronic Services Portal – the ZamServices portal (https://eservices.gov.zm/), the payment for the service can be made online also and the final result – the requested permit – is available as well in electronic form for download.
The applications for electronic permits destined to students are received and processed by the Zambia Department of Immigration (ZDI), which in turn, issues the requested permits.

Any person who is a foreigner and wants to move to Zambia, in order to start or continue their studies at a Zambian Educational Institution, needs and is eligible to apply online for a Study Permit. This includes students and pupils categories of study.
